Amphyx is one of my main character in the World of Warcraft universe.  This is the toon that I spend the majority of my time playing and the one I focus on getting all achievements with.  I find playing my mage to be fun and frustrating at times.  Sometimes I wonder what the developers are thinking when they change how the mechanics of a class work, and while overall, I think they have made improvements, some changes have been downright odd.

I currently play the Arcane spec, with my secondary spec being Fire.  These are just the two I prefer currently.  I also play the Frost spec, but I usually only use Frost for PVP.  Basically, it comes down to preferences,

When I play WoW, I focus on several specific areas:

• Progression – This is moving through the story of the current expansion pack with all the quests available.  Progression also includes completing dungeons and raids which also have quest lines as well.
• Dungeons & Raids – Each expansion brings with it new dungeons and raids, and Shadowlands is no different.  After completing the dungeons on Normal level, then Heroic, completing Mythics and progressing through the levels of Mythics (0-15+) is now what I am working on.  Mythics have been quite challenging especially at the higher levels of 10+.  Blizzard also added seasons, so I have so many mythics to complete again!
• Achievements – Since achievements were added to WoW, I have been striving to get as many as possible.  However, it’s been extremely challenging to get some, especially the PVP ones since I don’t focus as much on that side of the game.  I’ve also been focusing on old achievements such as WotLK dungeons and raids as well as Cataclysm raids.  Doing some of these as a level 80 makes them a little difficult in that you end up killing the bosses so fast, it’s ridiculous.
• Reputations – I’m already at over 100 Exalted reps, but I need to finish the BfA factions (Rajani, Uldum Accord), as well as one from Cataclysm (Avengers of Hyjal), and one from Burning Crusade (Ogri’La),  I am also missing the Shado Master achievement from Pandaria.  I’m also working on wrapping up the last Legion rep, Conjuror Margos (The fishing dude outside of Dalaran).  Getting rep with the The War Within (TWW) factions is going to be a slog since you have to do a lot of dailies, and while I don’t mind them, it just feels like work.

I’ve been progressing decently in TWW.  The quest lines are pretty good, and some were quite epic.  This expansion has been very enjoyable, but as with all expacs, repetition starts to take its grip.  As of 12/2024 I have completed the storyline and focusing on gear and rep.  It’s also the 20th and 30th anniversaries of World of Warcraft and Warcraft, so there’s been a lot of content in Tanaris, including dailies and raids to work on.

I’ve been playing this game since vanilla and throughout my years of playing there have been good and bad expansion packs.  So far, the story progression has been really good.  The visuals have been amazing, characters have been very well developed and all around, it has been very fun to play.  Importantly, Blizzard implemented the concept of a Warband, whereby all your toons across realms are all connected and share most reps, quest completions, and a bank which is amazing.  The previous expansion, Dragonflight was really good as well, but not very alt friendly.  BfA was meh to good.  It had too many limitations for people with alts, and forcing people to complete a raid to get a recipe is frustrating as heck. Legion was definitely one of the best, with Cataclysm being one of the worst.  Just my opinion, but hey, this is my site, so there!
